KATHMANDU, MARCH 30 The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a show-cause order to the government over the arrest of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. A single bench of Justice Meghraj Pokharel on Monday ordered the authorities to clarify the grounds for Oli's arrest and detention while hearing a habeas corpus petition. The petition was filed by Oli's spouse Radhika Shakya, claiming that he was being held in unlawful detention. Earlier, the court had issued a similar show-cause order in the case of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. The court has directed the government to submit written reasons for the arrest as legal proceedings continue. Both Oli and Lekhak were arrested on Saturday morning.
