Malekhu–Muglin stretch to remain closed at night until April 2

KATHMANDU, MARCH 30 The Ichhakamana section of the Malekhu–Muglin road along the Prithvi Highway will remain completely closed to traffic for six hours each night over the next three days, starting today. According to the District Administration Office, Chitwan, the road will be shut from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am until April 2 to facilitate ongoing upgrading works under the Muglin–Nagdhunga Road Project. Construction activities are currently being carried out at Ghoptebhir and other locations within Ichhakamana Rural Municipality–4. Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjivi Sharma stated that the movement of all private and public vehicles will be halted during the closure period. However, essential service vehicles, including ambulances and fire engines, will be allowed to operate. The administration has urged travellers to plan their journeys accordingly and has advised them to contact Road Planning Information Officer Sachin Mishra (9849-544607) or Police Inspector Pratik Singh (9855090120) at the Area Police Office, Muglin, for updates or assistance in case of inconvenience.
