KATHMANDU, MARCH 31 Former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rijal, was arrested from his Koteshwor residence on Tuesday morning by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. Rijal, who served as CDO during the Gen-Z protests on September 8–9, 2025, was detained following recommendations of the Karki Commission formed to probe the incidents. Superintendent of Police Manohar Prasad Bhatta said he would be taken to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation. Police had earlier arrested former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on March 27 in connection with the case.
