KATHMANDU, MARCH 31 Traffic on the BP Highway has been suspended indefinitely from this evening. The District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, stated that vehicular movement was halted due to risks posed to travellers following flood conditions in the Roshi River, triggered by heavy rainfall in the Bhakunde–Nepalthok section of the highway. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista, the decision was taken in view of the heightened risk of flooding in the Roshi River as a result of intense rainfall in areas including Panauti, Namobuddha, Katunje, Mangaltar Taga, Kavrebhanjyang, and other parts of the southern region of the district. Vehicles already en route along the highway have been held at designated entry points-Kavrebhanjyang in Dhulikhel and Nepalthok in Sindhuli. The highway had resumed operation on Sunday morning after remaining closed for approximately 36 hours since Friday.
