KATHMANDU, APRIL 1 The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast generally cloudy conditions in the Himalayan region and partly cloudy weather in the hilly and Tarai regions across the country for Wednesday. According to the Division, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi Province, as well as in the Himalayan regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. For tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, while other Himalayan areas will witness partly cloudy conditions. The rest of the hilly and Tarai regions are likely to see mainly fair weather. However, light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is still possible at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The Division said the current weather pattern is influenced by a low-pressure system over Uttar Pradesh in India, along with westerly and local winds. In the Kathmandu Valley, light rain with thunderstorms is likely during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging between 24°C and 26°C and a 20 percent chance of rainfall. At night, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with minimum temperatures between 13°C and 15°C, the Division added.
