KATHMANDU, APRIL 2 The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast partly cloudy conditions over the hilly and Himalayan regions and mainly fair weather in the Tarai for Thursday. According to the Division, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Similar conditions are also likely at a few places in the hilly region of Gandaki Province. Windstorms are also possible at some places in the Tarai regions of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces. For tonight, partly cloudy conditions are expected over Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, including the remaining Himalayan regions, while the rest of the hilly and Tarai regions will experience mainly fair weather. There remains a chance of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Himalayan region of Gandaki Province. The Division said the current weather is influenced by partial effects of westerly and local winds. In the Kathmandu Valley, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging between 25°C and 27°C. At night, partly cloudy conditions will continue, with minimum temperatures between 13°C and 15°C.
