Light rain, thunderstorms likely in hilly, Himalayan regions

KATHMANDU, APRIL 6 The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast generally cloudy conditions in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country on Monday, with partly cloudy weather in the remaining areas. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions during the day. By night, the Himalayan region is expected to remain generally cloudy, while the hilly region will be partly cloudy and the Terai mainly clear. Light rainfall or snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, and at isolated places in Bagmati, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. According to the department, the current weather pattern is influenced by a western low-pressure system along with local winds. In the Kathmandu Valley, light rain with thunderstorms is likely during the day, with temperatures expected to range between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. There is a 30 percent chance of rainfall. Nighttime conditions are expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius.
