President reshuffles Cabinet order of precedence

KATHMANDU, APRIL 7 President Ramchandra Paudel has revised the order of precedence of the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah. The reshuffle has been made in accordance with Article 76 (9) of the Constitution for the Cabinet formed on March 27. As per the revised hierarchy, Prime Minister Shah has been placed at the top, followed by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle and Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in the second and third positions respectively. Similarly, Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha ranks fourth, Home Minister Sudan Gurung fifth, and Transport Minister Sunil Lamsal sixth in the order of precedence. Similarly, Law minister Sobita Gautam ranks seventh, Women Minister Sita Badi ranks eighth, Federal Affairs Minister Pratibha Rawal ranks ninth, Health Minister Nisha Mehta ranks tenth in the hierarchy. Likewise, Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel ranks 11th, Tourism Minister Khadak Raj Paudel ranks 12th, Communication Minister Bikram Timilsina ranks 13th, Agriculture Minister Geeta Chaudhary ranks 14th; and Labour Minister Dipak Kumar Sah ranks 15th. The revised order and portfolio allocation came into effect on Tuesday.
