By THT Online

KATHMANDU, APRIL 8 inDrive has announced a fuel support initiative worth Rs 2.2 million for driver-partners in Nepal amid rising fuel prices and increasing cost-of-living pressures. The company said the scheme, set to begin from April 15, aims to support drivers facing higher operating costs while maintaining affordable fares for passengers. The financial assistance will be distributed based on driver activity and performance. 'Rising fuel costs directly affect our driver partners, many of whom rely on daily trips as their primary source of income,' said Sunita Jeemi Rai, Senior Driver Operations Specialist, inDrive Nepal. 'We believe platforms like ours have a responsibility to introduce practical, immediate solutions while continuing to build a system that is fair for both drivers and passengers.' inDrive stated that it is also implementing additional measures, including reduced commissions on selected rides and performance-based incentives, to enhance driver earnings and flexibility. The platform follows a peer-to-peer pricing model, allowing drivers and passengers to negotiate fares directly. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining a balanced mobility ecosystem that supports both driver sustainability and passenger affordability.
