Gold jumps Rs 7,200 per tola, nears Rs 300,000 mark again

KATHMANDU, APRIL 8 Gold price surged sharply in the domestic market on Wednesday, rising by Rs 7,200 per tola after recent fluctuations. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 299,000 per tola, up from Rs 291,800 per tola on Tuesday. The latest increase follows a modest gain of Rs 400 per tola a day earlier. With the rise, gold price is once again approaching the Rs 300,000 per tola threshold. The last time prices hovered around this level was on Chaitra 5, when gold was traded at Rs 302,300 per tola, though not an all time high price for the fine gold. Similarly, silver price also recorded a notable increase, climbing by Rs 205 per tola. Silver is now being traded at Rs 5,025 per tola, up from Rs 4,820 per tola on Tuesday. The increase has pushed silver prices past the Rs 5,000 per tola mark, a level last recorded on Chaitra 5.
