By THT Online

KATHMANDU, APRIL 10 Prime Minister Balendra Shah expanded his cabinet on Friday, appointing Gaurikumari Yadav as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and Ramji Yadav as Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security. Both are sitting lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, the appointments were made on the recommendation submitted to President Ramchandra Paudel. The ministers are scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy later today at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas, although the exact timing is yet to be confirmed. Following the swearing-in, both ministers will assume charge of their respective ministries. The appointments fill two vacancies that had opened under contrasting circumstances. Labour Minister Deepak Kumar Sah was dismissed on Thursday after his own party, RSP, recommended his removal following findings that he had misused his position to arrange membership for his wife on the Health Insurance Board. The Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ministry had been held directly by Prime Minister Shah himself since the government took office.
