Home Minister Gurung directs security agencies to act tough on crime, drug abuse

KATHMANDU, APRIL 12 Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has instructed security officials to adopt a tougher stance to control criminal activities, including drug abuse. Addressing chiefs of district security agencies at the Nepal Police College in Bharatpur today, Minister Gurung stressed that security bodies must work professionally to ensure good governance and effectively curb drug-related offenses. He also directed officials to enhance public service delivery, emphasizing the need to instill a sense of transformation among citizens. Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Govinda Puri, said the Minister underscored the importance of prompt and efficient service delivery. During his visit, Minister Gurung inspected various sites across the district. On Saturday night, he visited Ghoptebhir, Tuinkhola, and other areas along the Narayanghat–Mugling road section, instructing concerned stakeholders to ensure timely and robust physical infrastructure development. The Home Minister also travelled to Nawalparasi East today to inspect the Daunne road section along the East-West Highway.
