Speaker Aryal inquires into parliament building construction status

KATHMANDU, APRIL 13 Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has inquired about the progress of the Parliament building construction. During a discussion held today with officials from the Ministry of Urban Development Nepal and representatives of the construction company, the Speaker directed that the construction work be completed within the stipulated timeframe. Also present at the discussion were National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rubi Kumari Thakur, and Vice Chair of the National Assembly Lila Kumari Bhandari. The construction contract for the Parliament building has been awarded to the Tundi Sheikh JV. Although the project was initially scheduled for completion within three years, the deadline has been extended six times to date. According to the latest agreement, the construction is expected to be completed by May. The Ministry of Urban Development has stated that approximately 94 percent of the work has been completed so far.
