KATHMANDU, APRIL 17 The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted generally cloudy conditions in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces today, with partly cloudy weather elsewhere across the country. There is a likelihood of light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Meanwhile, hot conditions are expected in parts of the Terai, particularly in Madhesh, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, as well as other Himalayan areas. The remaining hilly regions will see partly cloudy conditions, while the Terai is likely to experience mainly fair weather. Light rain or snowfall is likely at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at isolated locations in Bagmati's Himalayan region. According to the Division, the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds. In the Kathmandu Valley, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely during the day, with a 20 per cent chance of precipitation. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. Tonight, the weather is likely to be partly cloudy, with minimum temperatures ranging between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius.
