KATHMANDU, APRIL 17 Nepal Tourism Board and PATA Nepal Chapter have signed an agreement to jointly organise the sixth edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart 2026, aimed at promoting Nepal as a global tourism destination. The four-day international event is scheduled to be held from June 1 to 4 at The Plaza in Lalitpur. It is regarded as Nepal's premier business-to-business travel and tourism trade platform, bringing together global buyers, sellers, industry experts, media and other stakeholders. The agreement was signed by Deepak Raj Joshi on behalf of the board and Narendra Bhatta representing the PATA Nepal Chapter. Under the arrangement, the Nepal Tourism Board will act as the organising partner, providing strategic coordination, facilitation and financial support, particularly for international delegates including buyers, speakers and media representatives. The PATA Nepal Chapter will be responsible for overall planning, promotion and execution of the event. The event will feature a range of activities including familiarisation tours to major tourism destinations such as Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Lumbini and Sindhupalchowk, alongside conference sessions, the HTM Insight Forum, B2B meetings, networking events and cultural programmes. Organisers said the continued collaboration reflects a shared effort to strengthen Nepal's global tourism positioning, enhance destination visibility and create business opportunities within the tourism sector.
