Indian national arrested in Birgunj with 30,000 Tramadol tablets

KATHMANDU, APRIL 22 A 20-year-old Indian national has been arrested in Birgunj with 30,000 tablets of the banned drug Tramadol Hydrochloride, the District Police Office, Parsa, said. Acting on a tip-off, a police patrol team conducted a search of Room No. 105 at Samar Hotel and Lodge on Link Road, Ward No. 8 of Birgunj Metropolitan City at 9:55 PM on April 19. The search led to the arrest of Sagar Kumar Patel, a resident of Bhelahi Village, Bhelahi Police Station, Motihari District, Bihar, India. A total of 30,000 tablets of Tramadol Hydrochloride IP-50 (Tramol), packed in strips of 10 tablets each, were seized from his possession. Further investigation is underway, police said.
