Two killed, nine critically injured in Tanahun bus accident

KATHMANDU, APRIL 24 Two people were killed and nine others seriously injured in a bus accident along the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district on Friday afternoon. The accident occurred at Shera in Shuklagandaki Municipality-7 when a passenger bus (Ga 2 Kha 1836) en route from Pokhara to Bhairahawa lost control and overturned on the road, police said. According to District Police Office Tanahun, the identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed. A total of 27 injured passengers were initially taken to the GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Centre in Belchautara for primary treatment. They were later referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital and Annapurna Hospital for further care. Police said nine of the injured are in critical condition, 14 have moderate injuries, and five sustained minor injuries. Three injured are currently undergoing treatment at the local facility, while one has been discharged after general treatment.
