2,722 drivers booked for traffic violations in Valley

KATHMANDU, APRIL 29 A total of 2,722 drivers were penalised for violating traffic rules across the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours, traffic police said. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken during routine checks conducted at various locations. Among the offenders, 46 were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, 342 for lane violations, and 1,571 for other offences. The crackdown generated revenue of Rs 2.727 million, said police spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi.
