KATHMANDU, MAY 6 The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has urged the public not to open unauthorised links, citing a recent rise in theft through mobile applications and digital platforms. According to the CIB, unsafe links are being used to gain access to individuals' bank accounts and steal deposits. The bureau said fraudulent messages resembling services like Connect IPS are being circulated through mobile numbers as part of phishing scams. CIB Spokesperson Dilip Kumar Giri said opening such links can allow attackers direct access to banking information. He urged the public to remain cautious, avoid suspicious links and report such incidents promptly to reduce cyber risks.
