KATHMANDU, MAY 6 A total of 36 politically appointed office-bearers from nine agencies under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology have been removed following the implementation of the new ordinance. The ministry said chairpersons, members and executive officials from multiple bodies, including Gorkhapatra Sansthan, Press Council Nepal, Nepal Telecommunications Authority and the Advertisement Board, have been relieved of their posts. Officials from the Security Printing Centre, Public Service Broadcasting Nepal, National Information Commission, Film Screening Committee and Minimum Wage Determination Committee have also been removed. The ministry stated that the removals were carried out in line with provisions of the ordinance, which mandates the termination of politically appointed officials across government bodies.
