KATHMANDU, MAY 12 Digital payment transactions surged across all channels in the month from mid-March to mid-April 2026, according to the current macroeconomic and financial situation report covering nine months of 2025/26 released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). Mobile banking dominated digital transactions during the period, recording 74.46 million transactions worth Rs 618.71 billion. QR code payments followed with 54.64 million transactions amounting to Rs 153.47 billion, while debit card users conducted 10.03 million transactions totalling Rs 80.09 billion.
