Digital platform launched to boost public participation in lawmaking

KATHMANDU, MAY 21 The government has launched a digital platform aimed at increasing citizens' participation in the lawmaking process. The platform, unveiled on the occasion of Law Day, allows citizens to directly submit feedback, suggestions and objections on draft bills and laws. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam said the initiative was introduced to ensure direct public access to the legislative process. She said the government recognised the need to improve public participation in lawmaking despite laws being formulated for citizens. According to the ministry, the platform will also help enhance legal awareness among the public. Citizens can submit their feedback through the official website of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
