Bohara wins ADSoN Charity Golf Tournament title

KATHMANDU, MAY 23 Govinda Bohara won the title at the 10th ADSoN Charity Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Forest Resort Golf Club today. Played under stableford format, the 18-handicap amateur golfer Bohara accumulated an impressive 43 points to finish first. Along with the trophy, Bohara received a round-trip ticket to Singapore from Singapore Airlines. Indra Dhara Bista came second on count back after he was tied on 41 points with Nawang Pasang Sherpa. Bista scored 21 points on the back nine, while Sherpa earned 17. Tenzing Tshiring won the gross section trophy with 38 points and he also bagged the longest drive award. In the women's category, Bipana Shrestha finished first with 36 points, while Astha Dulal came second with 34 points. Dulal also won the lucky draw prize of a round-trip ticket to Singapore. Sanjeev Chettri claimed the senior section trophy with 38 points, while Dr Phauda Raj Thebe won the super senior category title with 29 points. Pradip KC won the closest-to-the-pin award, while Anjila Yonjan earned the straightest drive trophy. Rabindra Tiwari claimed the most birdies award on count back after he carded four birdies. A total of 71 golfers took part in the charity tournament organised by the Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSoN). The event received valuable support from Singapore Airlines, Carlsberg, Nabil Bank, and several other sponsors. ADSoN Chairman Rabendra Raj Pandey, Fundraising and PR Manager Nirmala Gyawali, along with Nepal Golf Association Senior Vice-president and Gokarna Golf Club Member Pavitra Kumar Karki handed over the prizes to the winners.
