KATHMANDU, JUNE 4 Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal is leaving for a three-day official visit to India from June 5 at the invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khanal will hold formal talks with Jaishankar in New Delhi, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, energy, and people-to-people relations. The visit is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two neighbours and is expected to further deepen Nepal-India ties. Khanal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on June 7. The visit comes amid heightened diplomatic engagement between the two countries. Earlier this week, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently on a visit to India, held meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, discussing Nepal-India relations and areas of mutual cooperation. Khanal was originally scheduled to visit India last month in connection with an international tiger conservation conference, but the event was postponed. He had previously met Jaishankar on the sidelines of an international event in Mauritius.
