NC seeks stronger diplomatic efforts on Kalapani issue

KATHMANDU, JUNE 10 Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has called on the government to adopt clear and concrete diplomatic measures to reclaim Nepal's disputed territories of Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura. Speaking in the House of Representatives on Wednesday after Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal clarified Prime Minister Balendra Shah's recent remarks on the border issue, Angdembe said the government should avoid ambiguity on matters related to national territory. He said the opposition would support the government in initiatives that serve national interests but stressed the need for a firm and consistent policy to safeguard Nepal's sovereignty and dignity.
