Jawalakhel Central Zoo closes indefinitely due to bird flu outbreak

KATHMANDU, JUNE 19 The Central Zoo at Jawalakhel has been closed indefinitely after bird flu infections were detected among animals inside the facility. In a notice issued on Friday, the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) said the zoo would remain closed from June 19, until further notice. The closure was ordered as a precautionary measure to safeguard public health and safety. The zoo administration expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to visitors and thanked the public for their understanding.
