KATHMANDU, JUNE 26 Newly elected Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, on Friday said the party has emerged as a major and mature political force following its first general convention. Addressing party leaders and cadres after taking the oath of office and secrecy from the party's Central Election Commission Chief Bhuwan KC in Narayangadh, Lamichhane said the convention had given the RSP both legal and political legitimacy and pledged to lead the party responsibly in its nation-building mission. Acknowledging shortcomings in the organisation and management of the convention, he described them as part of the party's first experience and vowed to learn from the weaknesses and improve future events. Lamichhane also announced that the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected office-bearers and central committee members would be held at the party's central office.
