vivo unveils Y500 with largest-ever Y Series battery in Nepal

New smartphone comes with a 50MP Sony camera, IP69 water resistance and prices starting at Rs 54,999.

KATHMANDU, JUNE 30 vivo has launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the Y500, in the Nepali market, introducing what it says is the largest battery ever offered in its Y Series lineup. The new handset is powered by an 8,100mAh BlueVolt battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 10 hours of continuous gaming on a single charge. vivo has also announced a six-year battery health guarantee and a 50-month smooth performance certification for the device. The smartphone features a 6.77-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It is powered by a 6nm processor aimed at delivering smoother multitasking and gaming performance. On the camera front, the Y500 is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony main camera and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The device also comes with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, including an underwater photography mode. Available in Pearl White and Midnight Blue, the smartphone will be sold in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants priced at Rs 54,999 and Rs 61,999, respectively. The device is available through vivo retail stores and Daraz. The company said the Y500 is targeted at consumers looking for long battery life, multimedia performance and durability in the mid-range smartphone segment.
