Saudi Arabia pardons 33 Nepali inmates

KATHMANDU, JULY 1 Saudi Arabia has granted a royal pardon to 33 Nepali inmates, Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said on Tuesday. According to the ministry, the pardon was granted on the occasion of Ramadan 1447 AH (2026) following a request submitted by the Government of Nepal through the Nepali Embassy in Riyadh. The ministry said the inmates will return to Nepal after completing the legal procedures required under Saudi Arabian law. No further details, including the offences for which the Nepali nationals had been convicted or the timeline for their return, were disclosed.
