GWM ORA 5 earns global design recognition following Nepal launch

KATHMANDU, JULY 2 Chinese automaker GWM's newly launched electric SUV, ORA 5, has won the 'Design of the Year' award in the Product Design–Automobiles/Vehicles category at the 2025 London Design Awards, days after its official debut in the Nepali market. The recognition comes as the company seeks to strengthen its presence in Nepal's growing electric vehicle (EV) market. The ORA 5 is equipped with a claimed driving range of 520 kilometres per charge, more than 20 advanced driver assistance features, and carries five-star safety ratings from both ANCAP and Euro NCAP. The vehicle is priced at Rs 4.699 million for the mid variant and Rs 5.199 million for the top variant in Nepal. VG Impex Pvt. Ltd., the authorised distributor of GWM vehicles in Nepal, said it plans to expand its product lineup with the launch of the HAVAL JOLION MAX EV and HAVAL H7 in the near future.
