Proton e.MAS 5 set for Nepal debut as first rear-wheel-drive compact EV

KATHMANDU, JULY 2 Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd. is preparing to introduce the Proton e.MAS 5, which it says will be Nepal's first rear-wheel-drive compact electric SUV in its segment. The company said the model has been designed to offer improved driving dynamics, stability and handling through its rear-wheel-drive platform, targeting both urban roads and hilly terrain. Jagdamba Motors, the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, said details including the vehicle's specifications, pricing, booking process and official launch date will be announced in the coming weeks. The planned launch comes as competition in Nepal's electric vehicle market continues to intensify, with distributors introducing new models to meet growing consumer demand for EVs.
