Woman's body recovered from Gandak Canal in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, JULY 10 Police have recovered the body of a 24-year-old woman from a water-filled section of the Gandak Canal near the Rajpur–Fatuwa road in Rajpur Municipality-3, Rautahat. According to the District Police Office, the body was found at around 7:20 am on Thursday after authorities received information about a body floating in the canal. A police team from the Rajpur Area Police Office and the district's crime investigation unit recovered the body from the canal. The deceased has been identified as Muskan Khatun, 24, wife of Sheikh Mobino of Paroha Municipality-5. After completing the required legal procedures at the scene, police sent the body to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for a post-mortem examination. Police said the cause of death has yet to be determined. Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Gautam, the district police spokesperson, said an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
