Two arrested for the charge of rape in Chitwan

CHITWAN, JULY 21 Police in Chitwan have arrested two individuals on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the arrests were made from Madi Nagarpalika. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bhushan Yadav said the incident occurred on the night of July 18 at around 1:00 am, when the suspects allegedly took the victim to the Maratha River near her home in Madi, assaulted her, and fled the scene. Police said the suspects had befriended the girl through TikTok, called her out of her home and took her away on a motorcycle. The main accused has been identified as Sarfaraj Miyan, 19, a native of Betia district, India, currently residing in Madi Nagarpalika-3. The second suspect, Aawaz Alam, 23, also of Madi-3, has been arrested for allegedly accompanying the main accused to the crime scene, police said. Police have also recovered the motorcycle (Me 1 Pa 7104) used in the incident. Both suspects are being held on charges related to the rape, and further investigation is underway, said Information Officer Yadav.
