KATHMANDU, JULY 21 The Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA organised the NRNA Knowledge Convention 2026 in Austin, Texas, bringing together Nepali professionals from diverse fields to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration. Held on July 18–19, the two-day convention featured presentations and discussions on topics including artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, scientific research, entrepreneurship, healthcare, food science and infrastructure development. According to the organisers, the convention aimed to create a platform for Nepali scientists, researchers, academicians, entrepreneurs and other professionals to exchange expertise and strengthen links with Nepal's academic, research and development sectors. Speaking at the event, keynote speaker Dr Niraj Bajracharya shared his transition from scientist to peace ambassador and highlighted his involvement in the Walk for Peace campaign across the United States. The convention was organised under the leadership of Dr Chandra Giri, chair of the NRNA USA Science, Technology and Innovation Committee, with support from NRNA USA officials and committee members. Participants discussed opportunities for research collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship and the use of science and technology to support Nepal's sustainable development. Organisers said the event reflected the growing contribution of the Nepali diaspora in advancing knowledge and innovation.
