KATHMANDU, JULY 22 The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally cloudy weather across the country on Wednesday, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely in several provinces as monsoon activity remains active. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly regions. Moderate rainfall is also likely in parts of Madhesh Province and the Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces. The department has warned of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces during the day. Tonight, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy over Koshi and Madhesh provinces as well as the country's hilly and Himalayan regions, while the Terai is likely to see partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning are forecast at a few places in the Himalayan districts, while moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. Temperatures in Kathmandu are expected to range between 28°C and 30°C during the day and 20°C to 22°C at night.
