KATHMANDU: Families displaced from the Pashupati–Tilganga area say they have been protesting for 83 days, demanding the government honour earlier agreements to provide developed plots in Gothatar. They say they relocated under the Pashupati master plan after accepting government compensation and are legal, tax-paying citizens-not squatters. According to the protesters, their relocated settlement was demolished on Baishakh 18–19, leaving many without permanent housing. They claim commitments to provide developed land, instalment-based land ownership and commercial space remain unfulfilled despite multiple rounds of talks with government agencies.
