CHITWAN, JULY 28 Authorities have suspended the movement of all vehicles along the Narayanghat–Muglin road section from 8 pm on Monday until 5 am on Wednesday morning after repeated dry landslides near Muglin raised concerns over public safety. The District Administration Office, Chitwan, said the decision was taken after a dry landslide blocked the road on the Narayanghat side near Muglin Bazaar. As debris and rocks continued to fall from the slope, authorities said allowing vehicles to operate at night could pose a serious risk to travellers. The administration said traffic would remain suspended during the night as a precautionary measure to prevent possible human casualties and other accidents. Earlier today, road authorities cleared landslide debris and restored traffic three times. The landslide occurred for the first time at the site, officials said. The dry landslide has been repeatedly falling from a slope around 40 metres above the road near Khahare Bridge, approximately 700 metres towards Narayanghat from Muglin. Rocks have continued to fall along with the debris, creating a potential hazard for vehicles using the busy highway section. Authorities have urged motorists and passengers to avoid travelling along the route during the closure period and follow official traffic updates.
