According to the District Police Office, the incident occurred on the night of July 23 near a temple in Parsa, Ward 7 of Gadhimai Municipality, where a group of individuals allegedly scattered pamphlets bearing slogans such as 'Long Live the Madhesh Liberation Campaign' before throwing black ink at Paudel, the federal lawmaker elected from Rautahat Constituency-4. Police said investigation teams from the District Police Office and the Area Police Office, Garuda, launched a search immediately after the incident and identified two suspects within a week. The arrested are 20-year-old Shakhe Ibran and 19-year-old Irfan Ansari, both residents of Gadhimai Municipality, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Gautam, the district police spokesperson.
