KATHMANDU, JULY 30 A 15-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a bullet during unrest in Golbazar, Siraha, on Thursday, as authorities continued enforcing an indefinite curfew in parts of the district. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Yadav of Aurahi Rural Municipality, according to Siraha Chief District Officer Surendra Poudel. Poudel said Yadav sustained the fatal gunshot wound while demonstrations were taking place along the East-West Highway, where protesters had obstructed the road with burning tyres. However, he noted it remains unclear whose bullet caused the death. 'We have received information that the boy died of a gunshot injury, but it has not yet been established who fired the shot. An investigation is underway,' Poudel said. Following the deterioration in the security situation, the District Administration Office imposed an indefinite curfew in the Golbazar area from 2:00 pm Thursday under the Local Administration Act. Security personnel remain deployed in the affected areas as authorities continue investigating the incident and monitoring the situation.
