KATHMANDU, JULY 31 A Nepali national working as a driver in Kuwait was killed in a drone attack in the country's northern region, the Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait confirmed on Friday. In a statement, the embassy said it had received official confirmation from Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Som Kumar Tamang, 44, of Tehrathum district, died in the attack that took place on July 30. Expressing profound sorrow over the incident, the embassy extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased. The embassy said it was coordinating with the relevant authorities in Kuwait to complete all necessary procedures, including the repatriation of Tamang's body to Nepal at the earliest. In view of the prevailing security situation, the embassy also urged Nepali nationals residing in Kuwait to strictly follow all security advisories and directives issued by the Kuwaiti authorities and remain vigilant. The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, although the embassy did not provide further details about the circumstances of the drone attack.
