KATHMANDU, AUGUST 3 A parked car plunged about 50 metres into the Sunkoshi River after being struck by a passenger bus along the Mid-Hill Highway in Phikkal Rural Municipality-2 of Sindhuli on Monday, with three people feared missing. The car (Bagmati Province 3-01-024 Cha 9573) was hit by a passenger bus (Ba 08-001 Kha 0144) at around 11:30 am near Nawalpurghat, causing it to veer off the roadside and fall into the river. According to Golonjor Rural Municipality-2 Ward Chair Som Prasad Baral, two of the occupants have been identified as local residents Dil Bahadur Tamang and Ganesh Thapa. A third person is also believed to have been inside the vehicle when it plunged into the river. A joint rescue operation involving local residents, the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force is underway to locate the missing vehicle and its occupants.
