Cabinet names Yangki Ukyab as Investment Board CEO

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 5 The government has appointed Yangki Ukyab of Kathmandu as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) for a four-year term. Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel announced the decision while making public the seven key decisions taken by Wednesday's Cabinet meeting. Ukyab, a development economist specialising in public policy, holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the University of Oxford. She previously served as a Senior Policy Adviser at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific Regional Office. The appointment follows a recommendation by a selection committee led by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle, which shortlisted three candidates for the post. The Cabinet selected Ukyab from among the recommended candidates. The CEO of the Investment Board Nepal serves a four-year term.
