DHANKUTA, AUGUST 6 Police arrested two men and seized 647 kg of marijuana during a vehicle inspection at Bhedetar in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhankuta, early Thursday. According to police, the contraband was recovered at around 5:30 am from a truck (Na 3 Kha 5095) travelling towards Biratnagar along the Koshi Highway. The arrested have been identified as Umesh Thing, 27, of Kailash Rural Municipality-3, Makwanpur, the truck driver, and Tularam Rai, 36, of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality-1, the co-driver. Police said they recovered 48 packets of marijuana, wrapped in black plastic, from inside the truck. The two have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act.
