SARLAHI, AUGUST 11 Sarlahi police have detained two people and seized a vehicle fitted with DJ sound equipment for allegedly violating a ban on playing DJs at high volume in the district. According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the action was taken after police received information that a DJ was being played at a high volume in violation of decisions by the Cabinet, District Administration Office and District Security Committee. Police seized the DJ-equipped vehicle, Ba 15 Cha 4291, from Gorkhakali in Malangawa Municipality-9, along with various sound-system equipment. Those detained have been identified as 55-year-old Jogeshwar Pandit of Haripur Municipality-7, the DJ operator, and 23-year-old Jagannath Sah of Bagmati Municipality-4, the driver of the vehicle. DSP Bed Prasad Gautam, spokesperson for the District Police Office, said the vehicle, DJ equipment and the two individuals were taken into custody for further investigation. Police urged people not to operate DJs at volumes that could adversely affect public health or cause noise pollution, warning that violations would invite action under the law.
