KATHMANDU, AUGUST 12 More than 40 new vehicles and mobility products are being unveiled as 53 automobile brands participate in the Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which opened at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The six-day expo, organised by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), will run through August 16, bringing different vehicle models and mobility products under one roof. The expo features 18 new two-wheeler brands and 29 new four-wheeler brands, according to the organisers.

Inaugurating the expo, Nepal Police Inspector General Dhan Bahadur Karki said greater coordination between regulatory agencies and stakeholders was needed to make Nepal's transport sector more organised and contribute to economic development. He said exhibitions such as the mobility expo could become a milestone in the development of Nepal's transport and mobility sector, while stressing the need to improve road safety, traffic management and vehicle discipline.

NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said the expo provides a platform to showcase different vehicle models in one location. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Anjan Shrestha, Confederation of Nepalese Industries President Birendra Raj Pandey, Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs President Punya Prasad Sitoula and Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamalesh Agrawal also called for a more systematic and disciplined transport sector.
