KATHMANDU, AUGUST 13 Former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba returned to Nepal on Thursday after spending five and a half months abroad, where he had travelled for medical treatment. Deuba, along with his wife and former minister Arzu Rana Deuba, traveled to Singapore on February 25. He reportedly stayed in Hong Kong for a brief period as well. His return comes a day before a national gathering of the non-establishment faction of the Nepali Congress, scheduled to be held at a party venue in Sukedhara, Kathmandu, on Friday. Deuba is scheduled to attend the gathering, with party workers from across the country who had arrived in Kathmandu for the event also turning up at the airport to welcome him. The former Congress president was reportedly given a grand welcome featuring musical performances and traditional tableaux upon his arrival.
