GAIGHAT, AUGUST 16 A 40-year-old man admitted to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan after suffering a serious head injury has gone missing from the hospital. Padam Bahadur BK of Rupatar Katre in Tapli Rural Municipality-5, Udayapur, reportedly disappeared from his hospital bed at around 2:00 am on Wednesday, according to his son Ram Kumar BK. Padam had been admitted to BPKIHS on Tuesday after falling from the roof of his house on Monday morning. He had sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body. His son said Padam's behaviour had changed after the accident. He reportedly argued with another patient soon after being admitted and later became agitated when health workers attempted to administer intravenous fluids. The family said Padam had briefly gone missing from the hospital earlier on Tuesday morning but returned several hours later. He subsequently disappeared again during the early hours of Wednesday. Ram Kumar said doctors had described his father's condition as normal, but the family suspects that his unusual behaviour may have been linked to the head injury. After searching for him without success, the family returned home on Saturday. Ram Kumar said they filed a missing-person complaint with the District Police Office, Sunsari, in Dharan on Sunday, requesting authorities to locate him.
