Proton electric SUVs draw customer interest at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 18 Proton's electric SUV models, the e.MAS 5 and e.MAS 7, have attracted customer interest at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 in Kathmandu, according to distributor Jagdamba Motors. The two models were showcased at Stall L-6 in Hall B of the expo, held at Bhrikutimandap from August 11 to 16. Visitors inspected the vehicles and made enquiries about their features, prices, ownership and booking options. The compact e.MAS 5 is available in Prime and Premium variants priced at Rs 32.99 lakh and Rs 36.99 lakh, respectively. The electric SUV features a rear-wheel-drive platform, a 14.6-inch display, 375-litre boot space, vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology and a G-Traction Control System. The e.MAS 7, positioned as a larger electric SUV, is also available in Prime and Premium variants, priced at Rs 49.99 lakh and Rs 59.99 lakh, respectively. Its Prime variant is equipped with a 160kW electric motor and a 49.52kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a WLTP-rated range of about 345km. The model also comes with advanced driver-assistance systems and a 15.4-inch display. Jagdamba Motors said the two models are aimed at different customer requirements, with the e.MAS 5 positioned as a compact urban SUV and the e.MAS 7 targeting customers seeking greater space and longer-distance practicality. The company said customers who missed the NAIMA expo can view the vehicles at Stall G-15 in Hall 4 during the NADA Auto Show 2026. It has also announced additional offers for customers during the event.
