GAIGHAT, AUGUST 24 Police have seized 199 kilograms of marijuana from a tipper truck in Udayapur's Katari and arrested its 21-year-old driver. A joint team from the District Police Office, Udayapur, and the Area Police Office, Katari, intercepted the tipper (Na 7 Kha 8173) near Maruwa Khola in Katari Municipality-4 at around 1:45am on Monday. Police found the marijuana packed in six sacks during a routine check of the vehicle travelling from Betini towards Katari. The driver, Som Magar, 21, originally from Devdaha Municipality-7 of Rupandehi and currently residing in Katari Municipality-4, was arrested in connection with the seizure. Police have kept the driver, marijuana and tipper at the Area Police Office, Katari, and begun an investigation.
