KATHMANDU, AUGUST 28 The water level in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa has risen again, prompting the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) to issue an alert for downstream areas. The NDRRMA said the river's water level, carrying mud and debris, has increased, raising the risk of another flood. It urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant and move to safer locations if necessary. NDRRMA spokesperson Shanti Mahat also urged people involved in rescue and relief operations along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers to exercise caution. A massive flash flood in the Bhotekoshi on Wednesday devastated settlements and infrastructure in Rasuwa. The disaster has so far claimed 469 lives, while 2,381 people, including 644 foreign nationals, remain unaccounted for.
